Rules

There are a few rules I follow for posts on the Schnitzel in a Wok food blog:

  1. I only write about dishes (in the recipe category) that I have actually made and that both I and at least one other person liked.
  2. Every dish should be doable in an average home kitchen, including the ingredients. Sure, some ingredients may not be available at the corner store, and you might have to go a little farther to get them, or you might need a wok. But none of that should create an impossible financial or shopping obstacle for someone who enjoys cooking even a little.
  3. Every dish should come as close as possible to a well-known meal from a particular area, nation, or region that people there actually make on a regular basis. This is not a blog about experimentation. I want a dish made at home to be something people in its homeland would admire too. Is there a better way to get to know other cultures?
  4. I do not include an ingredient, any other product, service, or even a dish just because I get paid to do so. If anyone ever wants to advertise on the blog, they are welcome to do that. In fact, I’ll be running Google ads from the beginning—this thing has to support itself somehow. But it should always be completely clear to the reader what is there because money changed hands and what is there because I recommend it.
  5. The photos showing the finished dishes (in the recipe category) should be my own, featuring food that I cooked myself.
