Chia pudding, or chia seed pudding, is an easy-to-make superfood. It is suitable for almost all types of healthy diets and especially popular among those who follow the paleo rules, as it is rich in plant-based protein and natural oils.
But even if you are not on any special diet, chia pudding can be a healthy choice for your next breakfast or a nice, stylish alternative for dessert.
Chia Pudding Recipe
1.Put your chia seeds in a mixing bowl.
Below the recipe, you’ll find the ingredients for one serving. In the pictures, you can see 2 servings of chia seed pudding being made.
2. Add almond milk.
Try to use unsweetened almond milk. If you use sweetened almond milk, no additional honey is needed.

3. Add honey and stir the mixture thoroughly.

4. Let it soak for 5 minutes. Then stir again.
5. Wait another 5 minutes and stir, then wait another 5 minutes and stir again.
Stir it 4 times in total. Make sure you stir it thoroughly, especially the first time.

6. Cover and let it absorb all the liquid overnight, or for at least 4 hours, in the fridge.

7. Serve your chia pudding in small bowls with fresh berries, such as blackberries and blackcurrants, as shown in the picture, and/or nuts, such as chopped almonds, peanuts, or walnuts.

What Is Chia Pudding?
Chia seed pudding is a jelly-like food made from the seeds of Salvia hispanica, i.e., chia seeds.
It is not a real pudding; no additives are needed to get this consistency. Chia seeds have an enormous capacity for absorbing liquid, so they create this jelly-like consistency, which looks like pudding.
Chia pudding can be eaten for breakfast or as a dessert. Serve it with your favorite fresh berries or chopped nuts.
Instead of almond milk, feel free to use any kind of alternative milk, like coconut milk or rice milk. If it’s OK for you to eat dairy products, you can even prepare your chia pudding with cow’s milk.
Also, if you are on a completely vegan diet, use any kind of sugar or maple syrup instead of honey.
Please note that 1/4 cup of chia seeds is 43 g. In the metric version, I’m using 45 g of chia seeds and 250 ml of liquid, which is basically just rounding up.
